Wildwood Kin – Warrior Daughter

Hailing from the South West of England themselves, it must have been a personal highlight for Wildwood Kin to have found themselves playing to crowds at this year’s Radio 1 Big Weekend in their hometown of Exeter and to then follow it with a set at Glastonbury festival in nearby Somerset. If you missed the Devon-based trio though, there are still plenty of opportunities to catch the female folk band in action before the year ends.

As well as lining up performances at Larmer Tree Festival and Cambridge Folk Festival, sisters Beth and Emillie Key and cousin Meghann Loney were recently-announced as the support slot for Texan duo The Oh Hellos plus they were chosen by fellow folkie Seth Lakeman to gift their blissful vocals to his upcoming tour and album.

New single Warrior Daughter, out 2 September, serves as the follow up to Wildwood Kin’s debut EP Salt of the Earth which was released last year and it’s a rallying Americana-infused call to arms, with all the full-bodied, familial harmonies that you’d expect. Check it out below.
