A few months ago, emerging Manchester duo Girl Friend popped a song on the web called Tragic on the Dancefloor. It is a deliciously provocative and rather underrated pop banger that’s well worth checking out, if you’ve not already come across it.
New single Hello Stranger sees Amory Neish-Melling and his sister Eleanor continuing to delve in to dramas of the heart, this time exchanging the uncomfortable club hook up for that chance encounter with an ex. It’s another cracking dose of shimmering electropop production with an 80s sheen, catchy hooks and on point lyrics – not to mention those sibling harmonies and warm lead vocals. Basically, it’s a bonafide all-round corker.
Hello Stranger comes out 5 August. Check it out below.
