The budding career of fledgling pop star du jour Hannah Jane Lewis continues to flourish with the release of her second single Bend or Break which received its premiere this week.
“Bend or Break is about finding compromise in a relationship, and feeling like the other person needs to let their guard down and open up,” says Hannah, whose debut single Why Start A War caused a lot of people to sit up and take notice earlier this year. “This song is a final plea for that, before it becomes too late.”
While there’s not exactly a shortage of up-and-coming female stars, this NYC-raised, London-based singer-songwriter should be high on your list of ones to look out for this summer. Inspired both by the eclectic sounds coming out of the East Village in her home city and the UK’s commercial music scene, Hannah’s first EP, due to land later this year, promises a strong mix of effortless cool, catchy hooks and musical styles, and her own take on introspective but damned irresistible pop. Bend or Break is a prime example of just that.
