Avec Sans have proven over and over that, when it comes to bands delivering pure, unadulterated synthpop, they’re up there with the best. The London duo – made up of Alice Fox and Jack St. James – will release their long awaited debut studio album Heartbreak Hi in NZ on 3 June and, if the YouTube taster (at the foot of this post) is anything to go by, you can expect a relentless blast of exhilarating electropop that’s already been heaped with a whole lot of praise.
As the lead up to its release continues, Alice and Jack now premiered the LP’s second official single Perth which long standing fans will recognise as the pair’s cover of a track from Bon Iver’s 2011 self titled album.
When we spoke to the band back in 2014, Jack told us that it was one of the tracks he was proudest of being involved in making so it’s no surprise to see the shimmering reworking appearing on their first full lengther.
“Our cover of Perth is very special to me since that’s what kicked off this whole crazy journey”, he said. “I’m so pleased we’ve managed to get every single taste of music we love into our songs, no matter the genre.”
Perth follows the re-release of the record’s title track which came out earlier this year. You can preorder Heartbreak Hi from iTunes now. Listen to the studio version of the new single below and scroll down for the album preview. Plus check out their upcoming live dates on their official website.
