Released right back at the start of 2015, Nashville band COIN’s catchy-as-you-like single Run nevertheless had enough staying power to land a place on our end of year countdown of hidden gems. It wasn’t the first we’d heard from the pop rock outfit though. Our love for the four piece runs right back to 2013 when they caught our attention with the infectious, sun-kissed Atlas. What I’m trying to say in a roundabout way is that we’re fans.
So it’s great to see the band – Chase Lawrence, Joe Memmel, Ryan Winnen and Zachary Dyke – not only returning with an irresistible new song called Talk Too Much, but coming back with a corker that heralds the arrival of their debut studio album.
“We wrote ‘Talk Too Much’ on our first day writing for a new record,” Chase told Idolator. “We just came off a two-month tour playing pseudo punk songs. We wanted to slow it down to the likes of ’80s new wave. The song came easier than any other song I’ve ever written. In a few hours, we wrote a song about my inability to leave it unsaid. I’m gonna stop there.”
