Holloway Road – Little Harder

Following well received sets at last month’s C2C weekend in London and stints last year hob-nobbing in Nashville and performing at the Country Music Awards, UK country duo Holloway Road have announced details about their upcoming second EP.

The pair will release their self-produced and mastered five song collection Roots on 18 April, and they’re saying it’s the most personal record they’ve made so far.

“We had some songs written, but then some (female related) things happened and we wrote new ones, which turned out to be even better material,” say Southend-on-Sea raised Robert Gulston and Jack Cooper about the follow up to their self-titled 2014 debut.

“Love can be a horrible thing but we’ve realised it helps make a kick-ass record! It doesn’t matter if we sell 5 or 5,000 copies – we’ll still be proud of it. We’ve made the record we wanted to make.”

Inspired by the likes of Florida Georgia Line and Kacey Musgraves, these guys seem intent on making their mark on the UK country scene, and their latest single, the irresistibly catchy foot stomper Little Harder, shows that they’re made of the steel to do well.

Last weekend, Holloway Road kicked off a joint UK tour with Dexeter at The Basement in York – you can still catch them live if you’re quick, and all the remaining dates are below.
