All Saints – This Is A War

If chart placings these days actually reflected the quality of music being released, then All Saints’ first two offerings from their upcoming album – the William Orbity dig at Nicole’s ex Liam Oasis (One Strike) and the terrific, strings-soaked banger One Woman Man – would be flying high in the Top 40. But no. They’re not. So while All Saints’ latest promotional single This Is A War is actually a surprisingly tender break up song and a bittersweet call to arms, it’s unlikely that those who don’t buy the album will get a chance to hear its aching beauty.

Red Flag, All Saints’ first album since 2004’s Studio One, will be released next Friday (8 April). Preorder it here and avoid missing out on some of the best pop songs that you’re likely to hear all year.
