Elton John has premiered the official music video for the latest countdown single from his upcoming 33rd studio album Wonderful Crazy Night.
The beautifully choreographed clip for the piano-driven love song Blue Wonderful was shot in Montreal and inspired by the photography of Gregory Crewdson, who is known for shooting in suburban landscapes and using exterior lighting to turn the ordinary, extraordinary. It features a young woman dancing around her home, before joining a male dance partner outside and eventually taking flight.
“If Gregory Crewdson made a video I’d like to think it would look something like this,” Sir Elton says of the visual for his latest single which follows the release of the album’s title track and its lead cut Looking Up.
Due for release on 5 February, Wonderful Crazy Night has been produced by the music icon with T-Bone Burnett who also worked with the legendary singer-songwriter on his 2010 collaboration with Leon Russell Union, as well as Lisa Marie Presley’s 2012 LP Storm & Grace.
