New York duo The Knocks will be releasing their debut studio album 55 later this year, and Ben and JPatt sure have plenty of tracks that could make the cut, thanks to the release of last year’s POWERS and Alex Newell-bolstered So Classic EP, as well as a slew of remixes and some hefty pop belters like the St. Lucia collab Modern Hearts from a few years back and this one from last year which featured Matthew Koma.
The latter – I Wish (My Taylor Swift) – has now been given a whizzy remix by fellow New York producer and artist Penguin Prison.
“I’ve been friends with Ben and JPatt for a while so it was nice to finally make a remix for one of their songs,” he said to SPIN about the track. “I recorded some of the bass part with my mouth beatbox style and that seems to be their favorite part of the remix. Mine too!”
The Knocks kick off a North American tour later this week, which will see them playing alongside Cardiknox and SOFI TUKKER. Dates and venues are at the bottom of this post.
