There’s always been evidence of the American singer-songwriter’s strong lyrical focus but, with each release, we’ve seen her material become increasingly evocative and more creative. This is an artist who never stops pushing herself. And that brings us nicely on to Blood. Sweat. Tears.
The next single from the EP is perhaps Molly’s most ambitious to date, her barely touched vocals for the most part laid over a simple piano accompaniment. A brief interlude of shadowy electronics emerges to the fore just as you think the song is reaching its climax, but it quickly evaporates, reverting back to those stripped back keys and a vocal that matches the compelling intimacy of the song’s lyrics and Brandyn Burnette’s production.
“The EP is a piece of my soul, honest & raw yet cinematic, like a dream but it’s real,” Molly recently said on her Facebook page about the upcoming collection which features her previous releases Natural Disaster and Peace of my Heart.
