It’s no real secret that Taylor Swift touched down in New Zealand this week. No sooner had she landed, social media and local media were awash with reported sightings across the city, but it’s these photos taken by a listener of The Edge radio station that proved she was here, and recording a new video down Bethells Beach.
That’s her in the blue dress near the water.
But what is the next single from Taylor’s massive 2014 album 1989? Well, it’s not Shake It Off, Blank Space, Style, Bad Blood or Wildest Dreams as three of those have already topped Billboard’s Hot 100 and the other two have reached the top ten.
In fact, Shazam have given a strong hint that it’s Out of the Woods which is finally receiving the long overdue official single treatment…

And of course, Taylor only recently shared her acoustic version of Out of the Woods after performing a mini-concert at the Grammy Museum in September.
Plus Taylor admitted in an interview with E! Online last year that the Jack Antonoff-co-penned and produced number is one of her own highlights from 1989.
“‘Out of the Woods’ is one of my favourite songs on this album.
I wanted to make sure that these songs sounded exactly the way that the emotions felt when I felt them. This song is about the fragility and kind of breakable nature of some relationships. This was a relationship where I was kind of living day to day, wondering where it was going, if it was going to go anywhere, if it was going to end the next day. It was a relationship where you kind of never feel like you’re standing on solid ground.
“That kind of a feeling brings on excitement but also extreme anxiety and kind of frantic feeling of wondering—endless questions“, she adds. “And this song sounds exactly like that frantic feeling of anxiety and questioning, but it stresses that even if a relationship is breakable and fragile and full of anxiety, it doesn’t mean that it isn’t worthwhile, exciting, beautiful and all the things that we look for.”
And even if it’s not Out of the Woods, we can still pretend because Out of the Woods is one of the best pop songs of the past few years and a world where Out of the Woods doesn’t get its own music video but Bad Blood does just doesn’t seem fair.
