Released back in March, Kelly Clarkson’s sixth studio album Piece by Piece managed to turn out one moderate hit with Heartbeat Song reaching the top 10 in the UK and Austria (!), but the record’s second single – the Sia co-write Invincible – never even left the runway.
To squeeze out a few more album sales from the campaign, the radio edit of the Greg Kurstin-produced title track today received its premiere on VEVO. Catch that one up top.
Earlier this year, Kelly explained that Piece by Piece was inspired by her new role as a mother and a wife, and how she was left reflecting upon her own childhood.
“It’s a positive song, even though I know it sounds sad. I don’t know what my father went through as a child, and I don’t know why he left and made the decisions he made, but everyone’s human.
“I don’t understand it for me, but I understand the depth of what that is—having a child—now, and he’s made me want to be that much more present in my family.”
As well as continuing to promote her own album, the pop star has also rcently featured on Ben Haenow’s UK Top 40 hit Second Hand Heart, and earlier this year she collaborated with Josh Groban on a cover of the Phantom of the Opera classic, All I Ask of You.
