Dannii Minogue will perform with big sister Kylie on the grand final of X Factor Australia when it airs next Tuesday [23 November] and here is the music video for the pair’s latest collaboration.
For their first live television performance in nearly 30 years, the famous siblings will sing 100 Degrees, an original track that features on the deluxe edition of Kylie’s festive LP Kylie Christmas which was released this week.
Kylie and Dannii last performed together on TV together back in 1986 when they took on a rendition of Sisters Are Doin’ It For Themselves on Young Talent Time. While there have been a few stage performances and studio recordings since, none have been televised.
“We’re not going to be able to give nearly as good hair this time around,” says Kylie, referencing their big dos of the 80s. “Or outfits, or anything like that. We literally can’t beat that. So we can only aim to honour it.”
Co-penned by Kylie with her regular songwriting and production team Ash Howes, Biff Stannard and the track’s producer and Kylie’s musical director Steve Anderson, 100 Degrees is a bonafide feelgood, festive disco stomper.
“There’s not enough party Christmas songs,” adds Dannii. “Everyone has Christmas parties, but what music do you put on? This song is perfect for dancing to. And our X Factor performance is going to be all guns blazing. And by guns, I mean glitter guns. It’s going to be a very sparkly, very Minogue Christmas.”
