Alex Winston – The Day I Died [Official Music Video]

Michigan-raised pop songstress Alex Winston has premiered the official music video for her recent single The Day I Died and shared details of her upcoming second studio album.

Alex will release This Ain’t Luck early next year and, in an interview with Cliche magazine, the self-taught pianist and guitarist (“I play a lot of instruments, and I play most of them poorly…“) refers to her new record as “more personal” than her 2012 full length debut and one that draws inspiration from listening to Cocteau Twins and Tears for Fears and her love for Canadian singer-songwriter Mary Margaret O’Hara.

A peppy, percussion-striking and synth-soaring electropop number, The Day I Died was released earlier this year and headed up a sparkling three track EP that also features the emotional ballad Down Low and a Lauper-esque turn on Dead End. The hat trick of winners are streaming below and you can catch the video for the title track up top.
