It’s already been a big hit in Australia and New Zealand, and we’d say it’s just a matter of time before hotly tipped Aussie Conrad Sewell’s ARIA chart topper Start Again finds similar success overseas.
Earlier today, the Brisbane-raised singer premiered the official music video for the sweeping, piano and snares-driven ballad, just a few days before his debut EP All I Know on iTunes.
The soulful track was co-written by the 27 year old with its producer Jamie Hartman, the frontman of UK indie pop outfit Ben’s Brother. Combining astutely-observed lyrics with an emotional tour de force vocal performance, Start Again is a tender beauty and, even when it reaches its final third and the wave of supporting vocals emerges as a rousing collective of unfied voices, the beautiful relationship retrospective never loses its sense of intimate reflection and emotion-jangling potency.
Conrad’s six track EP is available to preorder from iTunes here and also features an acoustic rendition of his Kygo collab Firestone and his most recent offering, the slick full throttle pop jam Who You Lovin’.
