Earlier this year, Canadian not-so-newcomer Allie X released one of the most exhilarating collections of pop you’re likely to have heard from a new artist this year. COLLXTION I may only be seven songs long but every single track is a primed-to-the-max pop banger – no surprise at all, if you were following Allie as far back as last year, when she first released the hat trick of belters Prime, Bitch and Catch.
The good news is that Allie X is about to get a long-overdue and well deserved UK push. Catch is heading up a brand new four track EP that’s scheduled to be released on 13 November and it’ll also include a remix of the title track, Prime and a brand new song that’s not been released anywhere called Never Enough.
As a result, there’s a new lyric video for Catch (up top) which arrives nine months after the classically-trained Toronto songstress premiered the song’s official music video – and elsewhere, the single has just been re-released as a standalone track on iTunes.
Still not convinced? Check out this immaculate live set of Allie performing her entire album at the Phi Centre in Montreal. Now THAT’S how you pop star.
