Fresh from the success of her debut single You Don’t Own Me, a Quincy Jones-endorsed cover of Lesley Gore’s 60s hit, Grace has this time reworked one of her own and premiered the official video for a new version of her EP cut Memo (Boyfriend Jeans).
Whilst it’s had a bit of a spruce up, fans of the original from the Australian singer’s Memo EP, will be pleased to hear that the now-titled Boyfriend Jeans hasn’t lost any of its soulful, blues-tinged sultriness or the beautiful piano-driven accompaniment.
The Brisbane-raised singer and her brother Conrad (Sewell) made Australian chart history earlier this year when they became the first siblings to top the ARIA top 40 as separate acts. Less than a month after Grace’s G-Eazy-assisted debut rose to the summit, her elder brother’s second solo single Start Again followed suit.
Grace is currently promoting her music overseas, with dates scheduled at Eton House in Toronto, Canada on 31 October and a week later at Isis Restaurant & Music Hall in Asheville, North Carolina. Keep up to speed via Grace’s official website and watch her new music video below.
