The track follows on from the Saint Etienne singer’s duet with Nicky Wire from the Manic Street Preachers Nothing Left to Talk About, and its release will be supported by a four date tour of the UK which kicks off on 25 November in Norwich.
Featuring backing vocals from Kami Thompson and James Walbourne of folk rock band The Rails, Take the Silver will be released on 27 November as a special edition 7″ vinyl, limited to just 700 copies, and as a digital bundle.
Both formats will also host a previously unreleased song called Sleepytown, recorded during the Red Kite sessions and produced by Carwyn Ellis, whilst the digital bundle will also feature a new version of album cut It’s Never Too Late, performed barque style complete with string quartet and bassoon.
Red Kite reached #49 on the UK album chart earlier this year, arriving eighteen years after the release of Sarah’s solo debut LP Lipslide.
