Glassnote are certainly keeping busy. Over the past few weeks, the US label that counts Mumford & Sons and Childish Gambino among its bigger acts, has been supporting promotion for Glaswegian trio CHVRCHES’ latest album Every Open Eye and launched Tor Miller’s radio-friendly breakout beat, Carter & Cash.
Another act on the label’s roster is Panama Wedding; a New York four piece masterminded by Peter Kirk whose debut single All of the People was an ‘alt-pop’ success in 2013 [it charted at #38 on the US Alternative Songs chart] and nudged the band on to countless bloggers’ lists of ‘must watch outfits for the foreseeable future.’
Well, that’s what happened with us and patience is indeed a virtue because this week Panama Wedding premiered the long-awaited, first single from their upcoming second EP In Focus which will be released to iTunes on 6 November.
A Brand New Life is peppered with all of the keynotes that made its predecessor so enjoyable, what with its sunny pop production, Peter’s warm, enthusiastic vocals and those relentlessly optimistic, singalong hooks that’ll cheer up even the gloomiest disposition.
And that’s not all. Later this year, you can catch Panama Wedding on a seven date tour of North America with Great Good Fine Ok, which kicks off on 30 November in Boston. The band announced the news on their Facebook page earlier today, with tickets going on sale this coming Friday.
