19 year old singer-songwriter Amber Bain is the voice behind The Japanese House, and earlier this week she premiered the official music video for her latest offering Cool Blue.
The track serves as the lead single from the Londoner’s upcoming second EP Clean which will be released on 6 November via Dirty Hit Records. The collection follows the release of the talented newcomer’s debut set Pools To Bathe In, which featured the track Still – former BBC Radio 1 DJ Zane Lowe’s last ‘Hottest Record’ before he left the station.
Recorded with The 1975’s George Daniel and Matthew Healy during the UK summer, Cool Blue is a lush tapestry of textured electronics and intoxicating rhythm guitar strums, that provide an ambient backdrop for Amber’s brooding, ethereal vocals.
A dreamy, alt-pop gem then and accompanied by a suitably hazily-shot video, Cool Blue arrives just days before The Japanese House kicks off her first live tour at The Bullingdon in Oxford on 4 October.
