Cassadee Pope has the kind of forename that would sound great being shouted off the top of a mountain in a triumphant, all-conquering “I am She-Ra’ or ‘I am He-Man’ kind of way. Imagine it. “I AM CASSADEE”.
Her recent single brings those same empowering vibes to the earphones. It’s called I Am Invincible and it’s a soaring country rock power ballad, written by Brett Boyett and Nash Overstreet and taken from her next album which is due next year and will feature songwriting and production collaborations with Lady Antebellum’s Charles Kelley, Sarah Buxton, Nathan Chapman and Kip Moore.
“That’s a huge part of who I am,” Pope told Rolling Stone Country about the edgier sound to her new material earlier this year. “I grew up singing country music, that’s a huge part of who I am, too, but I’ve always had that rock edge. And I don’t want to ever neglect that, because it wouldn’t be authentic to me. So this song feels really empowering and inspirational.”
I Am Invincible is out to download from iTunes now.
