Wildest Dreams was written by Taylor with producers Max Martin and Shellback, and serves as the record’s fifth single, following on from Shake It Off, Blank Space, Style and Bad Blood.
Directed by Joseph Khan and starring Scott Eastwood, the clip received its premiere at the MTV Video Music Awards pre-show, and sees Taylor playing the role of a Hollywood actress.
“If I meet someone who I feel I have a connection with, the first thought I have is: ‘When this ends, I hope it ends well. I hope you remember me well.’ Which is not anything close to the way I used to think about relationships,” she says about the track. “It’s that realization that it’s the anomaly if something works out; it’s not a given.”
