London-based pop newcomers X&Y premiere second single Rocket Science:

One look at X&Y’s list of liked music on Soundcloud, and it’s clear that these guys have formidable taste in pop. Tove Lo, Seinabo Sey and Jessie Ware are amongst the few that have received their appreciation on the music streaming site, which makes us even more excited to hear more of the trio’s own material.

Rocket Science – their brand new single – doesn’t disappoint either. The follow up to Ben, Ash and Rhys’ superb Secaina Hudson-produced debut This Love retains their smooth R&B vocal sensibilities, upscales the radio-friendly pop hooks and basically sounds like the work of a band who are much farther down the line than their second offering.

Indeed, since forming at the tail end of 2014, the three piece have already gone on to win support from industry heavyweights like Toby Gad (Beyoncé, Jessie J) and The Nexus (Lana Del Rey, Hurts) who are working alongside the three piece on their upcoming debut LP, so perhaps this aptitude for delivering slick, emotive and substantial genre-crossing pop shouldn’t come as such a surprise.

We’re on board whatever, and we won’t be surprised if it doesn’t take too long for these London-based newcomers to establish themselves as a household name.
