Hailee Steinfeld may only be eighteen but she’s already been hailed with acting accolades, having received plaudits for her role in the 2010 film True Grit which earned her nominations for a BAFTA, a Screen Actors Guild Award and an Academy Award.
This week, the talented US star kicks off her singing career with the release of her first single Love Myself on 7 August. The track arrives just a few months since the Hollywood actress signed to the roster of Republic Records in May, and it’s an anthemic, upbeat pop celebration about celebrating your own self-esteem.
““The moment that we met Hailee, we found her commitment to music inspiring,” said Republic Records’ executive vice president Charlie Walk earlier this year. “She has the vision, natural talent and dedication to compete at the highest level. We are thrilled to be a part of her musical journey.”
And, to support their latest signing, the label have put in a place a team of producers and songwriters who have been working with some of the biggest artists around. Love Myself was produced by Mattman and Robin (Carly Rae Jepsen, Taylor Swift) with Captain Cuts (WALK THE MOON, Tove Lo) Harvey Mason Jr (Whitney Houston, Fifth Harmony) and The Futuristics (Natalie La Rose, Austin Mahone).
