Vance Joy premieres the video for his brand new single Fire and the Flood:

Vance Joy has premiered the Hayley Young-directed music video for his brand new single Fire and the Flood.

Taken from a forthcoming expanded reissue of his ARIA chart-topping debut studio album Dream Your Life Away, which spawned the internationally charting hit single Riptide, Joy’s latest fired-up, acoustic number received its premiere on triple j Breakfast earlier today and will be released to digital retailers tomorrow [24 July].

I wrote a couple of songs in February and recorded them recently over here in Los Angeles. They came up pretty well, I’m happy with them,” the Melbourne-born musician told triple j’s Matt and Alex in a phone interview.

There were a couple of moments when the song started coming together. I wrote this guitar riff that ended up being the line that the horns play and just a few lyrics that were rolling around in my head… When we were recording it, it feels like an epic song so we may as well treat it that way.”

The 27 year old star is currently supporting Taylor Swift on the North American leg of her 1989 world tour and will join her again to play for audiences in his homeland when she brings the show to Australia in November.
