The track features vocals from pop star Rozes who caught Andrew Taggart and Alex Pall’s eye when the New York DJs heard her track Limelight.
“She came with some rough lyrical ideas that were great, and we had some sounds we were really liking,” the duo told Mashable about the collaboration and their inspiration for the track. “Also interesting to know is at that point we were super inspired by ‘Blank Space’ by Taylor Swift — not sure if you can hear the connections.”
The pair also confirmed that they have no plans as of yet to put out an album, instead choosing to continue in the vein of releasing pop-pleasing one offs – an approach that has, over the course of the past twelve months, also gifted fans with their collaborations with Siren and Great Good Fine Ok on Kanye and Let You Go, recent single Good Intentions and, of course, their breakthrough hit #SELFIE.
Below you can watch the music video for Roses which tracks behind the scenes footage from The Chainsmokers’ current run of live performances, which will see them performing in Croatia, Spain and North America over the coming months. For dates and ticket details, head here.
