Not content with simply releasing a new album of material this year, everyone’s favourite Antipodean pop princess Kylie Minogue has been keeping her fans on their toes by casually dropping new songs left, right and centre.
From the National Record Store Day release Golden Boy, through to her charity single Crystallize, a cover of Kim Carnes’ Bette Davis Eyes and the recently-issued free EP Kylie & Garibay, there seems to be no stopping the Australian chanteuse and here we have yet another surprise offering.
The Spinning Around songstress has teamed up with Sydney-based electronic duo Flight Facilities for a stripped back reprise of their 2010 single Crave You which is set to appear on their upcoming debut studio album Down to Earth. Kylie also appears in a video for the excerpt that sees her singing in a barely furnished apartment. The performance is as sparsely decorated as the setting, with KM going it alone without any musical backing and her heart-achingly fragile vocals echoing around the room and getting momentarily tangled up in cut-through distortion.
The full length version of Crave You features vocals from Giselle Roselli who also co-wrote and co-produced the track with Flight Facilities’ Hugo Gruzman and James Lyell. Watch the original video below and preorder Down to Earth on iTunes now ahead of its release on 27 October.
