Katy B has posted a new song online called Little Red Light.
Despite its title, the track doesn’t feature on Katy’s Little Red album which topped the UK album chart earlier this year and spawned the Top 20 singles 5 AM and Crying For No Reason. Its familiar blend of drum and bass-infused dancehall pop though will make it a fine and worthy addition to your Katy B playlist and, as it’s being given away as a free track, there really is no excuse not to download it immediately from Katy’s Soundcloud page.
A note from the singer accompanying the track read “Here’s an exclusive track from myself to get you in the mood for my set at the Boxfresh x Rinse stage at Carnival,” in reference to her upcoming set at Notting Hill Carnival.
This weekend Katy will be taking part in the 20th anniversary celebrations of London radio station Rinse FM which started out as a pirate broadcaster before establishing itself as a go-to place to hear new music emerging from the East London dance scene. The two day event kicks off on Sunday 24 August, and will also see performances from Jess Glynne, Chase & Status, Breach and Tinashe. For more details head to the special Rinse 20 website.
