American rock legends Aerosmith have premiered the music video for the first single to be taken from their forthcoming FIFTEENTH studio album ‘Music From Another Dimension’.
Frontman Steve Tyler and the band first performed ‘Legendary Child’ during the finale of this season’s American Idol, and it’s a brilliant single that could only be bettered if the frontman’s trademark falsetto was put to greater use.
That said, it’s much better than Tyler’s solo attempt ‘(It) Feels So Good’, which he released last year when he first joined the Idol judging panel, and which was a big disappointment due to how sanitised it sounded.
The clip stars actress Alexa Vega, and commences with perhaps the longest cinematic voiceover narration that reads (DEEP BREATH):
“This is the story of America’s greatest rock band. A story of struggle. A story of triumph. For over four decades, they’ve overcome the trends. No matter what kind of music they were up against.
“Not to mention divorce, drug addiction, stalkers, the music industry, rabid liars…I mean, lawyers, hung juries, bad sushi, shark attacks, shady managers, pirates (excuse my redundancy), sasquatch, Loch Ness, the Not-Yetis, the abominable no-man and everything in between.
“They’ve overcome the trends, the bends, the zens and the you-know-whens. They’ve lived on the dark side of the moon. From the Goan zone to the way outasphere.
“Now they come to you direct with music from another dimension. Episode 1: Legendary Child. This is a story. A story of Aerosmith. Done by girls on roller skates. How f***ing cool is that?”
The single will also feature on the soundtrack for the forthcoming movie ‘G.I. Joe: Retaliation’ and a delay in the movie’s release date in order to convert it to 3D subsequently resulted in this belated video arrival.
The new album is their first 2004’s ‘Honkin’ On The Bobo’ and will be released in the UK on November 6.
I love it! What do you think?
